An article found on the Onrec.com website, revealed the truth about christmas work parties, according to new research by Italian food chain, Pizza Express.
The Christmas party season is nearly upon us and that means bosses up and down the country will be bracing themselves for the usual drunken antics. But putting on the perfect bash can pay dividends in the long run: 9 out of 10 British workers say that a good office party helps them to work harder according to new research.
For employees the best thing about the annual bash is getting together with friends and colleagues, watching people making a fool of themselves on the dancer floor and seeing the boss relax for once.
No-one wants to hang their head in shame as they walk into the office the next day but what is the best way to avoid the annual festive embarrassment? It's easy to be wise before the event: just under half of people agree that sensible drinking and avoiding anyone you fancy is the correct approach. Eating is certainly not cheating: one in four people think a great meal to soak up the alcohol is the best way to keep things from turning sour.
Inevitably the best-laid plans are not always followed to the letter. One in five people have had a cheeky kiss with a colleague under the mistletoe and 1 in 10 men admit to leaving early with workmate and then regretting it the next day.We all enjoy a dance at the Christmas party but there are some songs we don't want to hear on the playlist. Cliff's 'Mistletoe and Wine' tops the list of our least favourite festive tunes, followed by Mariah Carey's 'All I want for Christmas is You' and East 17's 'Stay Another Day'.
By the end of Christmas we're all sick of the sight of turkey so for an alternative office meal, most of us would prefer a nice Italian, with all the trimmings!
