Norton Rose announces new debt capital markets and Islamic finance partner

Norton Rose LLP, the international legal practice, today announced that Farmida Bi has joined their London office as a partner in the international securities group. Farmida joins from Denton Wilde Sapte where she was partner and head of Islamic finance.

In her new role she will work on debt capital markets and securitisation work, including sukuk - shari’ah-compliant bonds. She joins partners Laurence Garside, Tak Matsuda, Sandrine Sauvel, Dean Naumowicz, and Neil D. Miller in the international securities group. Farmida Bi has specialised in capital markets transactions for over 15 years. She is a member of the New York Bar and of the Law Society of England and Wales and has experience of debt and equity capital markets (including Islamic finance and securitisations), emerging markets, regulatory issues, structured finance and mergers and acquisitions.
