Nick Land to act as non-executive Board member for Denton Wilde Sapte

Press Release from Denton Wilde Sapte LLP

Denton Wilde Sapte has appointed Nick Land to act as an external non-executive Board member.

"Nick has a vast and invaluable store of experience in advising international firms on their business development and strategy in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). His experience and his position on the boards of Royal Dutch Shell, Vodafone, BBA Aviation and The Ashmore Group also make him ideally placed to advise on our sector focus and growth plans," says Chairman James Dallas.

Nick worked at Ernst & Young for 35 years up to 2006, the last 11 of which he spent as Chairman of Ernst & Young UK, as well as more recently acting as Managing Partner of Ernst & Young's EMEA region.

"We've conducted a thorough selection process over the last 12 months, and Nick is by far the best candidate we considered for the role," adds James.

Geoffrey Howe acted as the firm's non-executive Board member from 2001 to 2007, when he stepped down in order to meet his growing obligations as chairman of Nationwide Building Society.

Nick's responsibilities will include attending all Board meetings and other relevant meetings, and he will also act as Chairman of the Audit Committee, which oversees the preparation of the firm's LLP accounts.
